Keeping children safe from harm is every adult’s responsibility. However, any adult 18 years of age and older who routinely interacts or has direct contact with children in the course of their paid or unpaid role as an integral part of a regularly scheduled program, activity or service; or who supervises those who do, are known as mandated reporters. A mandated reporter has a legal obligation to report suspected child abuse.
